Molly Leita, Eastman’s data and analytics director, is featured in a Forbes article discussing how information management and intelligence is driving innovation in the materials industry. The story spotlights a keynote speech Leita delivered at the recent Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) Best Practices: SAP for Chemicals event.

During her keynote, Leita shared that Eastman is transforming its innovation pipeline by implementing machine learning models. As a result, the company has substantially reduced the cycle times for new product development, sometimes from months to minutes. 

Additionally, Eastman is digitizing processes and leveraging technology to enhance productivity, efficiency and effectiveness and create more value for customers. Leita discussed Eastman's collaboration with GreenToken by SAP, which allows consumers to access information about the life cycle of products and provides data transparency. By scanning QR codes, consumers can learn about the recycled materials used in products and their origins.

“We need all of our stakeholders across Eastman to embrace digital for the game-changer that it is,” Leita said. “Working hand-in-hand with senior and functional leadership teams, we look for places where digital will make a difference.”
