Senior Vice President, Additives and Functional Products
Travis Smith is senior vice president, Additives & Functional Products (AFP) for Eastman. Smith has global responsibilities for all aspects of the company’s AFP segment and is an officer of the company.
Smith joined Eastman in 1992 as a chemical engineer with early roles in technology and manufacturing. He transitioned to commercial roles in 2001 and has held roles of increasing responsibility within the chemicals businesses, corporate innovation, specialty plastics, and advanced materials. During his time in Specialty Plastics, Smith spent five years based in Shanghai, China, and was responsible for developing regional growth strategies and building organizational capabilities. Smith was then named vice president and general manager of performance films and interlayers. Most recently, he served as Division President, Films, with global responsibilities for all aspects of the business with focus on accelerating growth across Eastman’s films businesses. He assumed his current position in October 2022.
Smith is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee. He holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.
Smith and his wife, Brenda, currently reside in St. Louis, Missouri, with their two children. His personal interests include basketball, golf, and travel.
