Eastman aviation solutions’ newest product, Eastman™ Turbo Oil 2330 (ETO 2330), has received MIL-PRF-7808 Grade 3 specification approval from the U.S. Air Force and is included on the relevant Qualified Products List. This milestone confirms that ETO 2330 meets military-grade performance and safety standards for aircraft turbo oils, making it the first new product approved to the Grade 3 specification since 1983.
"We are thrilled to achieve this important certification," said Travis Smith, executive vice president at Eastman. "The approval not only validates our product's performance but also reinforces Eastman's dedication to providing innovative solutions that meet the rigorous demands of the aviation industry."
ETO 2330 is engineered to deliver superior lubrication and thermal stability, making it ideal for applications requiring reliable performance under demanding conditions. ETO 2330 not only demonstrates best-in-class wear performance but also has an improved odor profile, providing for a more pleasant cabin experience for crew and passengers. This new turbo oil proves Eastman's commitment to develop advanced lubricants for the aviation sector.
Civilian aircraft approvals for ETO 2330 should be available as early as 2026. Honeywell Aerospace and Eastman are collaborating on a certification program covering aircraft auxiliary power units (APUs) and generators to validate the performance of ETO 2330.
