Travis Smith

Travis Smith is executive vice president, Additives & Functional Products (AFP); manufacturing; worldwide engineering and construction; and health, safety and environment for Eastman. Smith also serves as the executive sponsor for EVETS, the Eastman resource group for military veterans and active reservists.

Smith joined Eastman in 1992 as a chemical engineer with early roles in technology and manufacturing. He transitioned to commercial roles in 2001 and has held roles of increasing responsibility in corporate innovation, specialty plastics and Advanced Materials. During his time in specialty plastics, Smith spent five years in Shanghai, China, developing regional growth strategies and building organizational capabilities. Smith was then named vice president and general manager of performance films and interlayers before serving as division president, films. In 2022, Smith was named to Eastman’s executive team, leading AFP and the global health, safety and environment organization. He assumed his current position in January 2025.

Smith is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. Smith and his wife, Brenda, reside in St. Louis, Missouri, with their two children. His personal interests include basketball, golf and travel.
