Michelle H. Caveness

Michelle H. Caveness is senior vice president and chief manufacturing officer for Eastman, overseeing global manufacturing and operations support.

Caveness joined Eastman in 1996 and has held leadership roles of increasing responsibility in engineering, technology and manufacturing as well as on cross-functional business teams. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for development and scale-up of new products and has supported major expansions in Asia, North America and Europe. Prior to her current role, she was vice president, Tennessee operations site leader and global operations support, leading one of the largest manufacturing sites in the United States and associated sites across the globe.

Caveness holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. She is a licensed professional engineer and author of several publications and industrial short courses. She serves on the board of the Eastman Foundation and the American Institute for Chemical Engineers Foundation and is an advisory board member for the Center for Chemical Process Safety. She also does community volunteer work.

Caveness and her husband live in Kingsport and enjoy time with their four children. Her personal interests include cycling, skiing and music.
