Premixture of silage additives

AIV®2 Plus Na is a concentrated formic acid-based product for anaerobic preservation of silage. It is recommended for slightly prewilted and fresh forage and for ensiling crimped grains.

AIV 2 Plus Na, containing formic acid and its sodium salt, acts by inhibiting the activity of micro-organisms involved in spoilage.

AIV 2 Plus Na manages micro-organisms during the ensiling process:
AIV 2 Plus Na as a silage additive premixture has several benefits. As a concentrated formic acid-based product it rapidly drops the pH in the beginning of ensiling, which reduces proteolysis and growth of undesired micro-organisms. Lactic acid fermentation is restricted which in turn has several benefits such as higher silage intake, higher production of microbial protein in rumen and higher milk protein and fat content. AIV treated silages have also had better aerobic stability than silages made with homofermentative lactic acid bacteria strains. AIV 2 Plus Na combines the beneficial effect of formic acid and some buffering (sodium formate) to reduce metal corrosivity.

Preservative

AIV 2 Plus Na is a concentrated formic acid-based product to control growth of bacteria and yeasts in liquid feed and easily spoiled fresh feed.
