Velik launches line of sport shakers made with Tritan^™ from Eastman

SÃO PAULO, Brazil

Eastman Chemical Company expands its presence in the fitness market with products made with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester. Velik, a manufacturer of personalized shakers from São José do Rio Preto, began marketing its Pro line of premium products with bottles and storage cups made from Tritan. These shakers are designed for athletes and gym-goers who like to consume food supplements as part of their fitness routine.

The Pro line will include two 700 mL shaker bottles: the Pro Uno and the Pro Duo. The Pro Uno has a click-lock and a nozzle protector, which prevents finger contact. The Pro Duo also has a capsule holder and a powder holder with lid, which can be attached to the shaker separately. Both products feature a conical mixer for consistent blending, and are available in six color options (transparent, black, pink, green, navy blue and purple).

The Pro line also includes the Multipack, which is four supplement containers—two 150 mL and two 200 mL—with individual quick-couple lids and an easy-carry handle. The practical design allows each to be used individually or quickly coupled together. They are also available in six different color combinations.

Thanks to Tritan, the shaker bottles and Multipack containers are BPA- and phthalate-free and do not retain odors. "I got to know the material at a trade show in 2018,” says Guilherme Leite, marketing director for Velik. “I liked the visual aspect and its characteristics like beauty, clarity, mechanical resistance and the non-retention of odors. So, we decided to use Tritan for the first time on this new line."

Velik uses Tritan™ from Eastman for its Pro line of shaker bottles and supplement containers for health-conscious consumers.

"The interest in healthy living and adherence to the fitness world grows globally,” comments Rogério Dias, sales manager of Specialty Plastics for Latin America at Eastman. “As a result, people are looking for ways to introduce good practice into their routines. Tritan's durability, toughness, and ease of sanitation have caught the attention of Velik, who wanted to launch a premium line to offer to supplements consumers. With Tritan from Eastman, Velik came up with three products with great appeal for this market.” The Pro line will be sold in clothing and fitness accessories stores.
