Plasticizer improves overall efficiency in PVC products

A new Eastman product can help formulators more efficiently reduce viscosity in their polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plasticizers.

Benzoflex™ 172 plasticizer is an effective additive for PVC plastisols. It also works with other moderately polar polymers like polyurethane, as well as lubricant oil packages.

Lab testing shows it lowers viscosity more efficiently than traditional plasticizers. That efficiency means formulators may be able to use less of it than they would other products.

Benzoflex 172 improved hardness reduction in lab testing better than other plasticizers. It also dropped the fusion temperature of a standard formulation by about 3°C; traditional products minimally impact fusion temperature. This temperature reduction could be helpful when considering process throughput or minimum temperatures needed during processing.

This could lead to time and money saved for your company.

Our additive can be effective in PVC plastisols and in a variety of other formulation types. Click here to download brochure or contact us to connect with an Eastman expert to begin your formulation process.
