Adjust™ SL plant growth regulator is based on a chlormequat chloride (CCC) formulation. CCC is a proven active ingredient used successfully for many years in Europe and Canada. CCC has proven efficient in increasing stem strength, reducing stem height, and preventing lodging and the many risks and costs associated with it.
Adjust SL enables plants to respond under conditions as low as 34°F. This allows maximum manipulation of rooting and tillering, which are largely determined during cool, early growth periods.

CCC inhibits gibberellin production in plants. Gibberellins are plant hormones that regulate plant developmental processes, including cell elongation and cell division, which give plants their height. CCC inhibits the early stages of gibberellin production and has a long residual activity. CCC has a slow onset of action. In combination with its long residual activity, it works gradually in the plant in a less stressful way. Application with CCC results in a reduction in plant height while the stems thicken. Shorter and thicker stems are, in turn, less prone to lodging, and any potential yield losses are minimized.
CCC is systemic and acts on the stem, leaves, and roots. It is applied as a foliar spray. Since its introduction for use as a plant growth regulator in cereals in 1965, CCC has become the standard in Europe for lodging control in cereals.
