Potatoes

Nemasol soil fumigant provides a reliable solution for potato farmers, addressing their concerns about pest and disease control. By enhancing success in potato cultivation, Nemasol plays a significant role in supporting food production. As potatoes are a crucial, global food staple, the effectiveness of Nemasol helps farmers cultivate their crops with confidence.

One-step application

When applying Nemasol in connection with potato farming, the product is applied to bare soil via injection or incorporation technology, providing one-step control of weeds, soilborne diseases and pests.

Soil injection and incorporation

For potatoes, it is recommended that Nemasol be injected or incorporated directly into the soil. This allows for effective distribution and absorption of the fumigant into the soil, targeting pests and diseases that may affect potato plants.

Biological activity

Nemasol provides protection to potato crop against a vast catalog of soil-inhabiting, plant pathogenic organisms, including:

  • Nematodes: Meloidogyne spp; Heterodera spp; Globodera spp; Ditylenchus dipsaci; Pratylenchus spp; and Trichodorus spp and Paratrichodorus spp, which transmit the tobacco rattle virus
  • Fungi: Synchytrium endobioticum, Streptomyces spp, Spongospora subterranean, Helminthosporium spp, Rhizoctonia spp, Fusarium spp. and Verticillium spp
  • Insects: wireworms, cutworms and white grubs
  • Weeds: Nemasol allows control of most broadleaf and grass weeds, including their seeds, as well as volunteer potatoes and perennial weeds like nutsedges

When applying Nemasol, a favorable biotope is created which promotes plant vigor and healthy crop growth. Nemasol rebalances the soil, so crops can establish themselves faster and more vigorously. Because soil has been disinfected with Nemasol, plants can develop and grow more evenly, increasing the marketable yield.
